  Classic Mac Setup
Option 1 - Use our DNS server (no client edits)
In TCP/IP control panel, set Name server addr to:
  116.202.231.103

That's it. AOL/AIM hostnames route to MacTrove automatically. The OSCAR connection, Community Chats, News Ticker, FAQ and search all start working in your unmodified AIM client.

Option 2 - Download MacTrove AIM (Mac OS 9, full app)
Pre-configured AIM 4.0 with all MacTrove URLs baked in. Download, unstuff with Stuffit Expander, drag the folder anywhere on your Mac, double-click to launch. Sign on - that's it.

[ Download MacTrove AIM (.sit, Mac OS 9) ]

Tested on a Mini Tower G3 running Mac OS 9.1. An OS X version is in the works. For other systems, see Option 1 (DNS) above.

Already have AIM 4.0 installed? Download just the patched binary (MacBinary) and replace the existing AOL Instant Messenger (SM) in your AIM folder.

One-time AIM setup (for chat-room links)
For chat-room links to be clickable inside AIM, you have to register AIM as the helper for aim: URLs. 5-step walkthrough with screenshots.

  Public Chat Rooms
Sign on, then open Enter Chat Room... from the menu bar (People or My AIM) and type the room name.
