What is MacTrove Chat?
A community chat server for classic Mac enthusiasts, compatible with any AIM 4.x-7.x or ICQ client. Run by mactrove.com.

How do I create an account?
Visit chat.mactrove.com from any web browser, pick a screen name, and you're in.

Connection settings?
Server: chat.mactrove.com
Port: 5190 (plain) or 5191 (TLS, AIM 6.x+)

How do I join a chat room?
In your AIM menu bar, find Enter Chat Room... (usually under People or My AIM). Type the room name and click OK. We have rooms for System 6/7/8/9, Hardware Talk, PowerPC Era, 68k Forever, Newton, and more. The full list is in the Community Chats window.

How do I report a problem?
IM MacTroveBot in your buddy list and someone will get back to you.

Is this affiliated with AOL or AIM?
No. MacTrove Chat is an independent community service running open-source OSCAR server software. AIM the brand is owned by Verizon and not affiliated with this project.
